***IMPORTANT: ALL users should have neither the new Pro7, nor the program you are converting from open, or any Design Manager files in use, during a Conversion. BOTH programs should remain closed during this process***
Before converting your data make sure that:
| • | Design Manager Professional 7.0 is completely installed. |
| • | The Product Code on the back of the CD case has been entered. |
| • | You can successfully open the new software program and have run the LiveUpdate. Upon opening the program for the first time, you will be prompted to run a Live Update. Please be sure to do so before running any conversion processes. |
When you are ready to convert your data:
1. Insert the Design Manager Professional 7.0 installation CD again. If the CD does not start automatically, click on the Start button in the lower left corner of your desktop. Choose Run, type d:\setup into the Open field, and click OK. (In place of “d:” you may need to substitute the letter of your CD-ROM drive) Note: For Vista, you will need to choose Start è All Programs è Accessories è Run.
Read the on-screen instructions carefully before proceeding.
2. On the main installation window, choose "Data Conversion".
3. The Conversion will search your Computer for the program to convert from and start the conversion on its own, as long as only one copy is found. If more than one copy of Design Manager is found on the computer, the conversion installation will ask you which to use for this conversion.
4. Once the conversion has been completed, a message will appear to notify you. Choose OK. Then you can log into Design Manager and begin working. Your data from your previous Design Manager program should now be included in the Pro 7. It is suggested that you review the data before adding anything new.
